Xfm Sessions: The Courteeners
Posted December 8, 2010
In case you hadn’t heard, Xfm and Windows Phone have teamed up to bring you closer to the bands you love and give you a very special series of the Xfm Live Sessions – The Closer Series.
The Closer Series kicked off with The Charlatans, who played an awesome live set in London in October. The next session took place just last week, where 200 fans of Manchester indie super group The Courteneers went along to the Village Underground in Shoreditch, London, for an intimate gig courtesy of Xfm and the Windows Phone team.
If you went to The Courteeners Live Session and want to re-live it right now, or you weren’t lucky enough to win tickets and want to watch all the action, check out their Edit Suite and photo gallery from the night — designed to make you feel like you’re right there with the guys as they perform one of their biggest hits. People who use the edit suite and share their video can even win tickets for the next gig!
We caught up with Danny, the superfan of The Courteneers lucky enough to win tickets to the session for 8 of his mates, who got to interview Liam Fray, lead singer of The Courteneers. Here’s how he got on:
Danny was lucky enough to walk away with a signed CD from The Courteneers, but the my kind of phone team were nifty enough to grab a couple for ourselves. And since we’re nice like that, we’re going to give them away to you – our loyal my kind of phone fans!
Here’s how to be in for a chance of winning:
- Watch Danny’s interview with Liam Fray of The Courteneers
- Listen for the question about which team Liam Fray supports
- Then just leave a comment on the Windows Phone UK Facebook page with your answer
- We’ll then draw two random names from all of the entries, who will receive a sign copy of the latest The Courteneers album each
We’ve got one more Xfm Live Sessions in The Closer Series with Windows Phone lined up to bring you even closer to the bands you love. So keep an eye on our Facebook and Twitter channels for all the details. Good luck!
