The Guardian app

We are very excited to see the Guardian’s (free) Windows Phone app now live in the Marketplace and available to Windows Phone owners running codename Mango.

After reaching out to my kind of phone readers to get involved with testing the app, the Guardian has now launched its stunning news app, ready to be downloaded when the next release of Windows Phone rolls out.

The Guardian for Windows Phone delivers all the latest news and best content from the Guardian and Observer to your phone in a highly customisable, free app. You can catch up with the day’s sports news, comment and reviews, watch video, listen to podcasts and browse spectacular picture galleries while on the move.

The app is packed with tonnes of great features, including the incredibly useful multiple Live Tile feature – a new feature coming to the next release of Windows Phone – that allows you to pin different sections of the app to your Start Screen. So if you are a big theatre, comment is free or sports fan you can get straight to the articles that you love to read the most, without even launching the app.

Other features include the ability to watch award-winning videos and listen to podcasts on background audio, navigate news by section, topic or contributor and even save contributors, topics and sections to your favourites. The app is packed with stunning full-screen picture galleries to swipe through and all galleries and articles are shareable online.

If you want to see more screenshots of the app then check them out here. The app is available in the Marketplace now, for free. Get it here.
