    Play with your phone every 90 minutes. A guru says so.

    An interesting article came across our RSS feeds the other day that claims that you should be working no more than 90 minutes at a time. Tony Schwartz, you wrote the book ‘The Way We’re Working Isn’t Working’ said:

    “there is a rhythm in our bodies that operates in 90-minute intervals. That rhythm is the ultradian rhythm, which moves between high arousal and fatigue. If you’re working over a period of 90 minutes, there are all kinds of indicators in your physiology of fatigue so what your body is really saying to you is “Give me a break. Refuel me.”

    That is, every 90 minutes you need to take a break to refuel. Well, we’ve got a solution and all you need is your phone.

    Been working for 90 minutes straight and need a break? Take a walk outside and snap some photos with your phone to keep you mentally stimulated. Alternatively, sit back in your chair, stick your headphones in to your phone, close your eyes and relax for the duration of two songs. Or you could have a look at some of the brain training games we featured a few weeks ago and get your grey matter churning.

    With your phone, there are so many distractions to relax you for five or ten minutes before plunging back into work.
