Review your favourite Must Have Game for a chance to win an Xbox 360 with Kinect and a Windows Phone

Posted June 30, 2011

Here at Windows Phone we’ve been celebrating the Must Have Games season for the past six weeks, announcing and reviewing six amazing games that seriously deserve the title of ‘Must Have’. It’s been epic.

We brought you Hydro Thunder GO, Doodle Jump, geoDefense, Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1, Plants vs Zombies and last but by no means least, Angry Birds!

Phew… that was a long list.

We’ve given away six awesome prizes, from a remote control stealth speedboat to a special edition moleskin. Next week we’ll run the final prize draw for everyone who entered one of our weekly competitions, giving away a Windows Phone. But we’d like to give away some more. Lots more. So to end the season in style the prize for this weekly competition is an Xbox 360 with Kinect and a Windows Phone!

Fancy winning?

Of course you do. But how? Well, we want to know which Must Have Game was your favourite and we want to hear your review. If you have a blog you can enter by posting a review of your most-loved Must Have Game, along with details of why this was your fave. No blog? Not to worry, just write a similar post in a Facebook note. After you have done either of these options, send us the link via Twitter via a tweet to @WindowsPhoneUK, Facebook via a wall post on the WindowsPhoneUK page or comment on this blog beneath our post announcing this competition.

We’ll choose the top 3 posts based on originality, relevancy, humour (and of course adherence to our T&Cs) and then we put it back to you guys! We’ll post a link to the 3 finalists on our Facebook page and whoever gets the most ‘likes’ in 24 hours will win an Xbox 360 with Kinect and a Windows Phone.

The winning review will also be featured here on my kind of phone – the official Windows Phone UK blog!

So what are you waiting for? Get blogging for a chance to win big with Must Have Games.

Terms and conditions can be found here.

Plants vs. Zombies
If it couldnt get any better, One of the Best games now available on Windows Phone. What makes this game or pretty much nearly all xbox live games set apart from other platforms like the iPhone and Andriod platforms is that you get Achievements, something you can work towards and prove to your friends your a true games master !

To start of with you can try the Trial version which allows you to play up to Level 1-7, after that you would need to purchase the game. I believe by allowing you to play 7 games in level 1 is fantastic, you get to feel and understand the game play.

To begin with you need to collect the falling drops of sun which help you purchase or use the plants which help in turn defend your house from the ugly zombies. The more you collect the more plants you can place to defend your house. you can speed up collecting sun drops by simply planting sunflower plants. Once you collect a fair amount you can start to plant these cool green plants which fire out peas at zombies, the more you place the more effective they are at getting rid of these pesty creatures!!

As you continue to play the game and complete each level, you get to win a special prize (not going to tell, you would need to play the game to find out) which may actually help you in your next quest to defend your house; again you get to choose which items you would use further into the game, and you do get some brilliant plants to help you along the way…

I think its time to wonder off into the Windows Phone Marketplace and start downloading / playing “Plants vs Zombies” and start protecting your house, lets see who can get all the achievements and be top on the Leader Board !

1 catapult, lots of birds with different abilities and some bad guys that need clearing out! Angry Birds – What a game!

Once you’ve played through the game, you’ll want to go back and do it all again, to try for the best score, and oh, the 3 stars keep you playing, well until you have them, that is!

You start off each level with a set amount of birds to complete the level and destroy the surroundings and all the green pigs, gaining as many points in the process (that’s to get the 3 stars!) But here’s the catch, you also have to save as many birds as possible! Each one saved is worth a staggering 10,000 points! And the more points you get, the more stars you gain.

The birds all consist of, a Red (Standard smasher),a small Blue (small but splits into 3), a Yellow (Speed boosted), White (Egg bombs), Black (Exploding), Green with big orange bill (Boomerang effect), all needed to complete each level as they each have the ability to destry either wood, stone or glass.

To conclude, take your birds on a puzzling adventure through many different levels, gaining as many points as possible, with the least amount of birds possible. And oh, look out for the golden eggs! Hidden throughout the game.

Angry Birds – a game worth getting.

Hi Sarkis, thanks for the review! To be eligible to win this must be either a blog post or a Facebook note – so all you have to do now is copy and paste it into either of those options :) Thanks!

Disappointed to see all titles are Xbox Live – no indie games at all. Indie WP7 developers are already at a huge disadvantage with so much push being given to Xbox Live… kind of defeats the purpose of making the development tools readily available if the bias is against games developed in this way

Perhaps a “Must Have Indie” competition of similar value would redress the balance?
