Getting even more up close and personal with your phone

We’ve shown you how to take macro photos using your camera phone and a magnifying glass. We thought that was pretty darn cool… but how to top it?

What’s cooler than macro photography? SUPER MACRO PHOTOGRAPHY!

Now you can really get up close and personal.

We all know that putting super in front of anything makes it infinitely cooler. Would Superman be as cool if he were just ‘Man’? Would Mario have been as popular if he and his brother weren’t the Super Mario Bros.? Would the entire United States stop for just the ‘Bowl’? I didn’t think so…

In this case, SUPER macro photography means you can take photos of things that are SUPER small. Normally, you would need an SLR camera and a £50 (minimum) lens to pull off super macro photography.

Now you can do it with your mobile, a £5 laser pen and a bit of sellotape (here’s a little how-to photo set).

Thanks to this little tutorial, we now know that fixing the end of a laser pen over the camera lens on your phone produces cool shots like these:

You can also do it with the lens from any cd or dvd reader, or basically any laser lens at all. However, checking with your fellow housemates or partner might be a good idea before taking the dvd player apart just so you can take awesome photos of a dead ant. They won’t be too impressed.

Trust me, I found out the hard way.
