Looking to start developing for Windows Phone, but you haven’t yet taken the plunge? Then this free day of training is the quickest way to find out all you need to know. Windows Phone Camps will be running in London on Saturday 17 September and Manchester on Saturday 24 September.
Windows Phone Camps are events which will show you how to learn and build Windows Phone apps. There will be experienced people available to guide you through a series of hands-on workshops and tutorials, allowing you to work at your own pace and select what is most useful for you. Once you have the basics in place, you’ll be off and running and ready to develop your own apps.
You’ll be able to work on your own projects with assistance from our Windows Phone MVPs, network with others and also have the option of attending short tutorial sessions on Windows Phone related topics. This is especially great for people new to developing on Windows Phone.
Sessions to attend at the camps include: Introduction to Windows Phone Development, Controls & Control Toolkit, Execution Model, Storing Data, Launchers & Choosers, Accessing Cloud Services, Marketplace & Submission. There will also be informal tutorial sessions on the next release of Windows Phone covering topics such as: Multi-tasking, Debugging & Profiling, Motion API, Advertising SDK and Sockets.
The Windows Phone Camp will kick off at 9am and finish at 6pm. By registering and attending the camp, you will receive an exclusive Windows Phone Design Guide Sketch Pad as well as your own customized Hit & Run Windows Phone Camp T-shirt. Sweet.
Spaces are limited, so register your place in the Windows Phone Camp today.

Hi there,
I’m a lecturer in computer science and currently run a brand new, full academic year module on Windows Phone 7 development at the University of Lincoln. The module is designed for final year/masters students and leads to an assessment of developing a WP7 app that connects to Azure cloud services. We are advocates of the WP7 platform and our students really enjoy developing for it. It would be great if there was some kind of official affiliation between WP7 and academic partners who teach WP7 development, is there anything currently on the go for this? Would love to talk further on this!
