Windows Phone 7 Gaming Hub

The Xbox Live Hub on Windows Phone 7 will bring you the best in Xbox Live gaming. With full integration with your Xbox Live profile, you can check your stats, receive gaming invites, earn points and download single player and multiplayer games.

They might even have a few zombie games.

Check out the other Windows Phone features here.

Apparently people are abandoning books and newspapers on their daily commute and picking up their phones for some gaming delight instead, as reported in the Guardian recently.

Some of the commenters on the site suggest this is a bad thing…

‘We’re becoming a nation of zombies, What is the world coming to, think of the children, won’t somebody think of the CHILDREN! Etc. Etc. Etc.’

We’re here to show you that mobile gaming doesn’t have to be a brain numbing exercise involving blasting away at zombies or pretending to be a pirate ninja (However, if there were a game that involved pirate ninjas, my life’s ambition would finally be fulfilled).

To begin with, many studies by scientific boffins have shown that video gaming is beneficial to your person, improving motor skills, hand-eye coordination, focus and basic zombie apocalypse survival skills. However, there are also a whole slew of games that actively attempt to enhance your brain power.

Enter the brain trainers.

Brain Challenge HDBrain Challenge HD

Brain Challenge HD touts itself as an exercise regime for your brain. Split into five different categories, Visual, Memory, Logic, Math and Focus, it allows you to use small pockets of time (on a tube for example) to mentally lift some weights without “pain, stress or boredom.”

We’re not entirely sure where the HD comes into it, but it’s a good all-rounder to work the grey matter

Need to know what the capital of Moldova is?

Not entirely sure what the flag of Estonia looks like?

With SPB Geo Game you can brush up on your geography skills while having FUN!* Seriously though, Geo Game is a surprisingly addictive game that puts points against how many capitals or flags you can guess correctly.

According to the description it even has educational animation. What more could you want?

*we promise we didn’t mean to sound this lame.

Resident Evil: Genesis

Ok so, it’s not so much brain training as it is trying not get your brain eaten by gruesome zombies, but it could still be useful.

Because at the end of the day, when the zombie apocalypse comes, it doesn’t matter how smart you are if you don’t have any basic zombie apocalypse survival skills.
