Avatar: It’s not just a movie
Posted July 19, 2010
We’ve fallen in love with this neat little avatar video from Aura, who are working with Microsoft to make Xbox live avatars social. We decided we wanted to see all of your avatars and how they represent you, so to start, we’ve grabbed five from the video who remind us of certain online celebrities and bloggers to get the ball rolling…
Sean Adams @seaninsound
http://drownedinsound.com/
Always on the edge of music, we can imagine Drowned in Sound founder @seaninsound getting on the decks with his avatar to introduce us to the latest in what those darn kids are listening to.

Jed Hallam @jedhallam
http://jedhallam.co.uk/
Jed Hallam is nothing short of a social media rockstar. We’re still not sure whether he’d be at home with a guitar or with a barbershop quartet, but Jed has been one of the go to men on anything social media for a few years now.

Daren Forsyth @DarenBBC
http://daren140.posterous.com/
Seen as one of the key Twitter influencers in the UK, Daren is CMO for TAG ID by day, and social media networking extraordinaire by night. He also seems to be out of the country a fair bit, which earns him the plane he is currently riding.

Danny Wallace @misterwallace
http://www.dannywallace.com/
Author, columnist and TV star deserves this snazzy suit because he, my friends, is a Hollywood star. Having appeared in a Hollywood movie (as a bit part, but he did write the film), he is going from strength to strength by recently having his latest book turned into a Hollywood sitcom.

Pete Cashmore @mashable
http://www.mashable.com/
Pete writes a small blog called Mashable. Apparently it’s quite a big deal in some circles, but we’ve never heard of it. On another note, I’ve heard sarcasm doesn’t come across very well in writing… Mashable has taken the internet by storm and is now the global go-to website for anything social media. Therefore, Pete deserves the cool guy digs, because, guys, he is cool.
What does (or would) your avatar look like? Post in the comments below to let us know.
